In Assens on South Funen, Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S has automated its production and packaging of pipe tobacco using a solution from Gibotech. Using advanced technology and programming, the compact solution ensures precise weighing of the compressed pipe tobacco, after which it is packed into corresponding tobacco tins. Using easily programmable FANUC robots and associated precision equipment, the solution thus delivers a level of precision and efficiency that would not have been possible to achieve manually.
