Bystrup Totalbyg is investing in the future
With an investment in an advanced 5-axis CNC machine, the custom woodworking firm Bystrup Totalbyg hopes to create entirely new opportunities and results for the two-person business in South Funen. Bystrup Totalbyg is located in Svendborg, where for many years they have carried out carpentry and joinery projects for businesses and private clients. With the investment in a CNC machine, however, Bystrup Totalbyg also hopes to gain access to a new market with exciting future prospects.
This gives us opportunities to improve our production in terms of both quality and scale, but it is also an investment in specialization. Without this investment, I’m not sure my business will still be around in 10 years.
Niels Henning Bystrup, owner of Bystrup Totalbyg ApS
Through collaboration with architects, contractors, design-conscious companies, and private clients, Bystrup Totalbyg has undertaken a wide range of carpentry projects—from custom fixtures and furniture to building-related work. The CNC machine, purchased through close collaboration with Gibotech A/S in Odense, ensures that Bystrup Totalbyg can deliver a level of quality and versatility in their products that was previously unattainable.
"We are passionate woodworkers who love a challenge and are constantly seeking the satisfaction that comes from delivering a high-quality piece of work," says Niels Henning Bystrup, highlighting the new opportunities the machine has brought to his business.
"It gives us the opportunity to improve our current product while significantly expanding our horizons," he says, noting that the company can produce unique results in model building, furniture, plank tables, or other custom woodworking projects.
At Gibotech, we have been impressed throughout the entire sales process with Bystrup Totalbyg, which has been an extremely committed client throughout the process.
It’s truly amazing that a relatively small company like Bystrup Totalbyg can invest in a CNC machine like this and thereby significantly expand its business capabilities. The versatility of the CNC machine is a major asset for Bystrup Totalbyg, allowing it to quickly switch from standard projects to unique ones.
Mikkel Bjerregaard, Chief Strategy Officer at Gibotech
The CNC machine installed at Bystrup Totalbyg is manufactured by the Italian company CMS, with whom Gibotech has had a long-standing partnership. Both Gibotech and Bystrup Totalbyg visited the CMS factory in Italy before the machine was delivered to ensure that it met their expectations and requirements.
