Logistics using mobile robots for Gødstrup Regional Hospital

Gødstrup Regional Hospital is a newly built hospital in West Jutland—it covers a total area of 140,000square meters.

The comprehensive automation solution consists of the delivery of 15 AGVs, including charging stations, and 276 drop-off stations. The delivery also includes design, delivery, commissioning, full integration, employee training, and post-handover service.

Gibotech was responsible for the design, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the logistics system in connection with the construction and automation of the hospital and service building.

To meet these requirements, Gibotech installed an AGV system to distribute carts containing food, supplies, clothing and linens, waste, and fluids throughout the hospital. Consumables and linens are delivered to the hospital by external suppliers and received at the service center’s receiving area. The carts are placed on guide rails, and a transport order is entered into the AGV system.

The service building is located at ground level. From here, the AGVs can drive down to the basement via a ramp and from there to special AGV elevators that take them up to the hospital’s various departments.

It has been a clear goal for Gødstrup Regional Hospital to automate the transport of goods, clothing, linens, and internal supplies. We chose an AGV system because of its flexibility and its ability to be adapted to future requirements.
