Dencam Composites purchases a 55-meter-long CNC machine

It’s no secret that Gibotech always creates custom solutions. This applies both to automation solutions involving robots and to solutions involving CNC machines.‍

But even for an experienced automation company like Gibotech in Odense, some projects are just a little bigger than others. This is one of them.

Close collaboration with Dencam

It took no fewer than nine trucks and three separate deliveries for Gibotech to deliver the 55-meter-long CMS Poseidon Maxi to Dencam in Rudkøbing. Normally, all the systems developed by Gibotech are first set up and tested in the production hall on Datavej in Odense, but since this was one of the largest machines in CMS’s product catalog, there simply wasn’t enough space, so the machine was delivered directly to Dencam.

It was important for Dencam to find a local supplier. Gibotech can dispatch a service technician immediately, as they are located just over half an hour from the factory in Rudkøbing. At the same time, Gibotech has access to virtually all spare parts within 24 hours in the event of a machine breakdown, which was also a factor when Dencam was selecting a supplier.

It will be one of the largest CMS machines ever built, and it is now ramping up production at Dencam, where it will mill composite materials as the company manufactures molds for wind turbine blades. And with the ability to machine workpieces up to 51.5 x 6.85 x 4 meters in size, it is the perfect machine for the job.

This is the first time Gibotech has delivered a machine of this size, and naturally, this placed certain demands on the collaboration with CMS.
