Gibotech A/S has seen strong CNC sales in 2021, a year that in many ways is still marked by the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, many companies have not let the crisis stop them—quite the opposite, in fact.

The COVID-19 crisis has, in fact, helped draw attention to supply chain security for manufacturing companies, and most Danish companies want to help create jobs in Denmark. This can be achieved, for example, through automation, which improves quality and productivity and thereby enhances competitiveness.
Henrik Thomsen, Product Manager for CNC machines at Gibotech, is optimistic about 2022 and notes a healthy order backlog heading into the new year, even though the final tally has not yet been determined.
Our customers have had a good year, and that naturally rubs off on us. There’s a positive mood among our customers, as 2021 has, in many cases, prompted them to consider bringing production back in-house rather than relying on uncertain supply chains.

Extensive experience with both CNC machines and robots
Gibotech has over 40 years of experience in the field of custom CNC production cells and is constantly developing new solutions. The Odense-based company does this, among other things, in the robotics sector, where the integrator has been developing robotic solutions for automated machine operation using robots from both Fanuc and Kuka for more than 20 years. In addition, Gibotech also creates logistics solutions using mobile robots, and most recently has incorporated collaborative robots, or cobots, from Omron Fanuc to create even more flexible solutions.
These solutions are in demand partly because of their flexibility, but the labor shortage is also having an impact on interest in automation solutions.
"In 2021, we have seen growing interest in our solutions for automated machine operation, where customers are not only looking for a CNC machine but also want a robot to handle the operation. We are able to provide the comprehensive solution that best suits the specific task," concludes Henrik Thomsen.
