Choosing colors isn't always easy, but when you suddenly have free rein over an entire robot, it's time to think big. And that's exactly what happened when Gibotech placed a robot outside its doors.

It is this golden robot that will serve as a landmark outside Gibotech from now on.

It all started with the idea of visualizing what actually goes on behind the doors of the gray halls at Datavej 15 in Odense. And when the CEO suggested placing a used robot outside as an eye-catcher, things moved quickly. One thing, however, was certain: the robot had to be painted. The big question, therefore, was what color it should be. Black was suggested, as was the distinctive red color from Gibotech’s logo. But when silver metal was mentioned, the decision was clear: Silver is for number 2, and we don’t want to be number 2—we want to be number 1. And that’s why the robot had to be painted gold.

The color matches the vision

As part of a broader strategic initiative, a new vision was formulated last year for the Odense-based automation company, which, among other things, aims to establish the company as a recognized leader in the field of automation. The new golden robot is intended to help highlight this vision—and not just to customers. In fact, going forward, the robot will be the first thing employees see when they arrive at work.

Employees must

In fact, a key part of the vision is to place a strong emphasis on our employees. That’s why the gold robot won’t be working alone.

Our vision is to be the world leader in automation solutions. But it’s one thing to put fine words on paper; it’s quite another to get our employees on board.

Henrik Anker, CEO of Gibotech

A company can only succeed with dedicated employees. That is why our vision emphasizes our employees—because we can only become number one if our employees are committed to that goal and see themselves as part of the company. Not just right now, but just as much in the future. The Gold Robot is therefore also being followed up by other initiatives to foster the sense of community and pride needed to become number one.

The world's first automated sterilization center

The first initiative, which has already taken place, was a visit to one of Gibotech’s major projects: the world’s first automated sterilization center at Rigshospitalet.

On April 6, the bus departed from Datavej and headed for Copenhagen, where some of Gibotech’s own employees gave a tour of one of the largest projects the company has ever undertaken.

– The Sterilization Center will be a fantastic showroom once it’s finished, and it’s one of those projects that’s been the talk of the town, both at Datavej and in people’s homes. That’s why we’d like to give our employees and their significant others a chance to see what it’s all about. And even if you haven’t worked directly on the central sterilization unit, it’s the kind of project that inspires pride across the board,” concludes Henrik Anker.
