Gibotech, UVD Robotics, and Mobile Industrial Robots are the three finalists for Robot Company of the Year—an award presented by Odense Robotics to companies on Funen that have achieved extraordinary growth, made a significant contribution to the cluster, and demonstrated strategic leadership during the COVID-19 crisis this year.

This award honors all the Odense-based companies in the cluster that have made a significant contribution to the cluster over the course of the year. The nominees were selected by their peers, and next week we will find out which company the cluster’s CEOs have chosen as the 2020 Robot Company of the Year.

Mikkel Christoffersen, CEO of Odense Robotics

The finalists were nominated by members of the Odense Robotics CEO Network—a network that brings together CEOs from companies on the island of Funen. This year, there were three nomination criteria: extraordinary growth or potential for a startup, a significant contribution to the cluster, and strategic leadership during the crisis.

Gibotech and UVD Robots have been nominated for their extraordinary growth, contributions to the cluster, and innovative solutions during the crisis, while Mobile Industrial Robots has been nominated for outstanding strategic leadership and growth.

In the final round, the network’s CEOs will now vote for a winner, who will be announced on December 17 at an online event.

The award was presented for the first time last year, when Inwatec took home the prize. Just like last year, Nykredit Bank is sponsoring the award.

“We’re proud of this nomination for Robot Company of the Year, especially because it’s all our ‘robot’ colleagues out there who are nominating us for the award, not a jury,” said Henrik Anker, CEO of Gibotech, following the nomination.
