EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is Denmark’s—and perhaps the world’s—most prestigious competition for growth-oriented businesses. This year, Gibotech has been nominated and is in the running for the title at the regional awards ceremony on Monday, November 30.

EY Entrepreneur Of The Year has been celebrating Denmark’s top growth drivers for nearly 25 years. Through this competition, it highlights the people who build and run successful, expanding, and dynamic businesses and who bring new, innovative products and concepts to market. And they want to help tell the stories of the women and men who have the courage and passion to bring their dreams to life.

It has been seven years since Henrik Anker took the helm as CEO of Gibotech A/S, and this marks the sixth time the company has been nominated for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year award during that period. That is truly remarkable.

New criteria

There are many factors to consider when the jury decides who will take home the prestigious award.

- We want to see business owners with the courage to rebuild, restore, and reinvent, and we want to see those who blaze entirely new trails. A time of crisis can spark and accelerate change and bring new ideas to the forefront rapidly. That is why this year we are radically changing the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year competition with an award that honors the companies and entrepreneurs who manage to seize the opportunities arising from the crisis, who demonstrate adaptability, and who adopt a long-term perspective that can help them emerge stronger. For nearly 25 years, we have celebrated Denmark’s best growth creators, and this year it is more important than ever. We want to engage the business community and the participating companies in the fight to defy the crisis and to see opportunities in adversity. We hope you will join us and help kickstart this development, says EY.

The competition will be decided in several rounds, beginning with regional competitions in November and December and culminating in a national final in Copenhagen on Thursday, January 21. The Danish winner will then advance to the global competition, the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year, in June.

“We are proud to have been nominated for this prestigious award and would like to emphasize that we would not have made it this far without all of our dedicated employees,” says Henrik Anker, CEO of Gibotech.
