Gibotech and Sanovo Technology Group are collaborating

A highly successful project over the summer marked the beginning of an even closer collaboration between Gibotech and Sanovo Technology Group, which are jointly establishing a brand-new company, Sanovo Technology Robotics A/S.

There has been a lot of activity across Datavej this summer, with both companies frequently visiting each other’s facilities during the development of a new robotic cell for Sanovo’s packaging plant. But there was much more at stake than just the robotic cell, which was completed in just four weeks. The two neighbors have, in fact, fully leveraged the advantages of being located side by side in Odense, which in recent years has established itself as Denmark’s leading robotics hub and is now gaining another robotics company. And it is not just any group that is now diving into the world of robots alongside Gibotech.

In addition to being part of the Stadils Thornico Group, Sanovo Technology Group is one of the world’s largest suppliers of machinery and equipment for handling eggs and egg products. Under the new corporate structure, Sanovo Technology Robotics will become the sole supplier to Sanovo Technology Group and will develop automation and robotics solutions for the Group’s various business areas.

And the goal is simple: to become the world’s leading supplier of robotic solutions for the egg industry.

We are the global leader in our field, and we now intend to expand this leadership to include automation using robots and AGV systems. We believe that our partnership with Gibotech, combined with our extensive market knowledge and expertise in building complete production lines, will make us stronger together.

Staying in town

The two companies have had their eyes on each other ever since Gibotech moved into Datavej in 2016. Sanovo Technology Group has ambitious goals regarding automation within the group’s business areas, and both companies see clear advantages in leveraging the synergies that come from, among other things, being located right next to each other in Denmark’s number one robotics hub. And Sanovo Technology Robotics will, of course, also be located on Datavej. The new organization will physically move in under the same roof as Gibotech at number 15.

It is very important to both companies that the new company be based at Gibotech, so that the innovative and forward-thinking mindset that underpins our daily work in the development of robotic cells is firmly embedded in the new company. After all, we are specialists in this field, and that expertise must be instilled in the new company.

We need more people

In addition to creating synergy between the two neighboring companies, the establishment of the new company will also have a positive impact on employment in Odense.

Since Sanovo Technology Robotics is an independent organization, there is a need for a wide range of skills, and there will be a shortage of project managers, design engineers, programmers, and assembly technicians.

- It goes without saying that when we’re setting up a brand-new company, we’ll need more people. And even though we’re starting by transferring a few Gibotech and Sanovo employees over to Sanovo Technology Robotics, we’ll also need new hires.
